A senior Mumbai Police official has claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput's brother-in-law and an Indian Police Service officer asked him to call the actor's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty to the police station and pressurize him.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Paramjit Singh Dahiya told a TV channel that Rajput's brother-in-law and Haryana senior IPS officer O.P. P. Singh made this request to him in February this year. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput (34) was found dead on June 14 in his apartment in suburban Bandra.

Dahiya said that Singh had asked me to inform Riya Chakraborty in an informal manner and pressurize him. Dahiya was the zonal police chief of Bandra till 1 April. Dahiya said that Singh told him that Rajput's family feels that Riya is controlling the actor and he wants to get her out of the actor's life.

He said that the actor's family had not made any written complaint. O. P. Singh had informally requested a message on WhatsApp on February 18 and 25.

The DCP said that Singh had come to Mumbai on February 5 and asked him to inform Rajput about his being in Mumbai. He had also requested a person named Miranda to be placed in police custody without any complaint or investigation.

The DCP said that he told Singh politely and firmly that it is not possible for him to call someone in the police station and detain him as it is against the practice. Dahiya said that he had asked Singh to file a complaint so that the matter could be investigated. He said that no written complaint was made in this matter.

Rajput's father K.K. K. Singh had released a video saying he had warned the Mumbai police on February 25 that his son's life was in danger. Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh said on Monday that the family had not expressed any doubt during the interrogation. The city police recorded the family's statement on 16 June.

He said that he had not expressed any suspicion then and had also not made any complaints of sobriety in the investigation.

मुम्बई पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने दावा किया है कि सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के जीजा एवं भारतीय पुलिस सेवा के अधिकारी ने उन्हें अभिनेता की प्रेमिका रिया चक्रवर्ती को पुलिस थाने बुलाने और उस पर दबाव बनाने को कहा था।

पुलिस उपायुक्त परमजीत सिंह दहिया ने एक टीवी चैनल को बताया कि राजपूत के जीजा एवं हरियाणा के वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी ओ. पी. सिंह ने इस साल फरवरी में उनसे यह अनुरोध किया था। अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत (34) उपनगरीय बांद्रा स्थित अपने अपार्टमेंट में 14 जून को मृत मिले थे।

दहिया ने कहा था कि सिंह ने मुझे रिया चक्रवर्ती को अनौपचारिक तरीके से पुलिस थाने में बुलाने और उस पर दबाव बनाने को कहा था। दहिया एक अप्रैल तक बांद्रा के जोनल पुलिस प्रमुख थे। दहिया ने कहा कि सिंह ने उन्हें कहा था कि राजपूत के परिवार को लगता है कि रिया अभिनेता को नियंत्रित कर रही है और वह उसे अभिनेता की जिंदगी से बाहर करना चाहते हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि अभिनेता के परिवार ने कोई लिखित शिकायत नहीं की थी। ओ. पी. सिंह ने 18 और 25 फरवरी को व्हाट्सएप पर संदेश भेज अनौपचारिक तौर पर अनुरोध किया था।

डीसीपी ने कहा कि सिंह पांच फरवरी को मुम्बई आए थे और उनसे राजपूत को उनके मुम्बई में होने की जानकारी देने को कहा। उन्होंने मिरांडा नाम के एक व्यक्ति को बिना किसी शिकायत या जांच के पुलिस हिरासत में रखने का अनुरोध भी किया था।

डीसीपी ने कहा कि उन्होंने सिंह से विनम्रता एवं दृढ़ता से कहा कि उनके लिए किसी को पुलिस थाने बुलाना और उसे हिरासत में रखना मुमकिन नहीं है क्योंकि यह कार्यप्रणाली के विरुद्ध है। दहिया ने कहा कि उन्होंने सिंह से शिकायत दर्ज करने को कहा था ताकि मामले की जांच की जा सके। उन्होंने कहा कि इस मामले में लिखित शिकायत नहीं की गई।

राजपूत के पिता के. के. सिंह ने एक वीडियो जारी करते हुए कहा था उन्होंने 25 फरवरी को मुम्बई पुलिस को आगाह किया था कि उनके बेटे की जान को खतरा है। मुम्बई पुलिस आयुक्त परम बीर सिंह ने सोमवार को कहा था कि परिवार ने पूछताछ के दौरान कोई संदेह व्यक्त नहीं किया था। शहर की पुलिस ने 16 जून को परिवार के बयान दर्ज किए थे।

उन्होंनेख कहा कि उन्होंने तब कोई संदेह व्यक्त नहीं किया था और जांच में कोताही की कोई शिकायत भी नहीं की थी।
